The PCA Center for Sports Medicine is headed by Dr. Delmas Bolin.  The Center is committed to bringing the high acuity approach of collegiate and professional athletic medicine to every athlete.   Whether you are the “weekend warrior”, a seasoned marathoner, or just someone who “over-did it”, we  use the most up to date approaches for diagnosis and treatment to get you back to activity as quickly and safely as possible.  Dr Bolin has relationships with the valley’s best orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists, or if need be, some of the best surgeons who care for professional teams throughout the country.

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Bolin graduated from the University of Illinois with his Medical Degree and a PhD in Biochemistry.  He completed a family medicine residency at Michigan State University –Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies.  His sports medicine fellowship was in the department of orthopedics at the University of Pittsburgh, where he worked with the Pittsburgh Panthers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  In addition to private practice, he has served as faculty for residency training programs and was co-director of the sports–medicine fellowship in Pittsburgh.

Dr Bolin is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and Board Certified in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.  In addition, he serves as an Associate Professor of Sports and Family Medicine at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Bolin has worked with numerous teams, including the Virginia Tech Hokies.  He is currently a Team Physician for Salem High School, Roanoke College, and serves as Head Team Physician at Radford University.

Dr Bolin joined PCA in 2004 and sees patients in the West Salem Office.  His special interests include biomechanics, osteopathic manipulation, and non-operative orthopedics.  Dr. Bolin lives in Southwest County with his wife Leena and two sons, Nick and John.
