Our Physical Therapy Staff

Jennifer Leitch, PT, DPT, Director of Salem Physical Therapy
Jenn has been practicing as a physical therapist in the Roanoke Valley/Salem area since early 2005. She attended Virginia Tech where she received her B.S. in Biology with a Chemistry minor; also while at Virginia Tech, Jenn served as a student athletic trainer for many of the universities sports teams (primarily football, women’s basketball, tennis, and volleyball). Jenn then attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Jenn has a broad range of clinical experience including inpatient acute care, orthopedics, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Jenn also has a strong outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine background. She trained strongly in manual therapy techniques and has devoted a great deal of continuing education to SI joint dysfunction, foot dysfunction, and the treatment of scoliosis.
As a pediatric physical therapist, Jenn has inpatient, outpatient, and home (Early Intervention) physical therapy experience. She has treated an extensive array of pediatric patients ranging from pediatric obesity, torticollis, developmental delay, club foot, traumatic birth injury, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, juvenile arthritis, scoliosis, and many other general pediatric diagnosis (including fractures, sprains, strains, impaired posture, etc…).
Jenn strives to provide the utmost quality of care for each of her patients at Salem Physical Therapy. She believes in hands-on, manual therapy and individualized treatments to assist her patients in achieving the highest level of function in the safest manner possible.
In her spare time, Jenn enjoys exercising, playing and watching sport activities, and spending time with her friends and family.

Christopher Pyke, PT, DPT
Chris Pyke, originally from Watertown, NY, relocated to Salem, Virginia in the spring of 2009 after having practiced in Charlotte, NC and Syracuse, NY. Chris attended the University of Buffalo for his undergraduate studies and remained there to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Chris was first introduced to physical therapy after suffering a back injury just prior to the start of his high school tennis season. He was referred to PT and was able to return to playing tennis without missing a match. He was even able to compete at a collegiate level as a member of the University of Buffalo’s tennis team. Chris has a strong orthopedic and sports medicine background with a great appreciation for safe, complete rehabilitation for all patients so that they may return to their sport activity or daily living without missing out on what they want to do.
In his spare time, Chris continues to be active in sport activities and exercise. He also enjoys outdoor activities in the Roanoke Valley/Salem area through hiking and camping.

Greg Stewart, LPTA, CWT
Greg is a native of Pearisburg, VA. After completing his pre-requisite courses, he attended Jefferson College of Health Sciences here he obtained his Physical Therapist Assistant degree. He also recently completed coursework to become a Certified Weight Trainer (CWT).
Greg has practiced in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation environments in Giles County, Richmond, and in the Roanoke Valley/Salem area. He particularly enjoys working with orthopedic/sports medicine patients implementing both manual therapy, the use of modalities, and application of his weight training certification.
Greg resides in Roanoke County with his wife and two whippets which keep him very active and allow him to sharpen his therapy skills. In his spare time Greg enjoys exercising for his health through cardiovascular activities and weight lifting.

April Hudson, LPTA
April, a Salem, VA native, graduated from Liberty University with a bachelors degree in Exercise Science and Fitness programming and received her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. April was inspired to enter the rehabilitation field after having been a former gymnast and coach and having torn her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). It was after going through physical therapy post-operatively that April became interested in becoming a PTA.
April brings a multitude of experience to Salem Physical Therapy. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings with chronic pain patients, pre and post-surgical patients, workers compensation injuries, and orthopedics. She has a strong background in manual and aquatic therapy. April enjoys assisting patients to improve their quality of life and following their progress in therapy so that they are able to return to their desired level of function.
In her spare time, April enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking her dogs, working out, and attending church.
